About the Show

The Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Western Spirit Juried Art Show and Sale. The Member-Only Opening Reception will be on March 6 at 5pm (MST), and the Virtual Western Spirit Award Show will be livestreamed on Facebook at 7pm (MST). The show will be open to the public March 7 to April 18, 9:00am to 5:00pm (MST) daily for the price of regular Museum admission.

Artwork for the Western Spirit was selected by a two-person independent jury. Jurors Anne Brown, associate publisher of Fine Art Connoisseur, and Jason Williams, co-owner of Gallery Wild and owner of Yellowstone Safari, selected 230 unique pieces of art from a pool of 692 unique pieces of art. Western Spirit also features the Vandewark Miniature Show in the East Gallery of the Museum.

Western Spirit started in 1982 as a sibling show to the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Western Art Show and Sale. Over the last forty years, Western Spirit has grown to become the premier western juried art show in the Rocky Mountain region for new and emerging artists. Western Spirit differentiates itself from the Western Art Show as a western contemporary art show. CFD Old West Museum Executive Director Morgan Marks describes this year’s show as “vibrant.”
